Take your bin bag and tape it down to protect the surface you are working on
Use masking tape to tape the edges on the back of the canvas to keep them clean
Take your cup and start to pour the paint into the cup, slowly, layering the colours one colour at a time
Place your colander in the middle of your canvas
Take your cup and start to pour your paint, very slowly, into the colander
The paint will start to seep through the holes, continue to do this until all your paint is in the colander
Ever so slowly, start to lift your colander up, the rest of the paint will filter through
Put your colander to one side (remember it’s covered in paint so make sure you put it down on something or put it straight into a plastic bag to avoid a mess!
Let your paint rest for a few minutes
Slowly pick up your canvas and start to move and tilt the paint so it moves towards the edges of the frame
You want to make sure the middle of your paint keeps its detail so slowly does it!
Keep manoeuvring until the paint has poured over the sides
Your painting is now finished – leave it to dry – it will take a while so be patient
