Fold your paracord in half so you find the middle – take your torch and do 3 wraps around the torch, just below the head of the light
Feed the bottom end of the paracord underneath the 3 wraps so it comes out of the top
Do the same with the top end – feed this underneath the 3 wraps so it comes out the bottom – pull it tight – this forms one end of your strap
Bring your rope through the ring at the end of the torch and over so it is looped around the ring
You are now starting your cobra knots which will form your strap
Take your left hand cord and bring it around the back of the strap creating a loop hole on the left hand side – hold it in place with your left hand
Your right hand thread goes under the left hand rope, bring it up and over the strap and then thread it through the left hand loop
Now reverse what you have just done the other way
Take your right hand cord and bring it around the back of the strap creating a loop hole on the right hand side – hold it in place with your right hand
Your left hand rope goes under the right hand rope, bring it up and over the strap and then thread it through the right hand loop
Continue weaving until you have formed a strap
Carefully, with adult supervision, cut off the rope as close to the strap as possible
This is where your adult comes in
Get your lighter and melt the ends of the paracord and using a spoon, push the melted end into the strap to fuse it together
