  • Paracord – 2 colours
  • Scissors
  • Lighter
  • Spoon
  • A keyring ring (or you can add it to an existing keyring)

  1. Take your first length of cord, this should be as long as you want your paracord person to be
  2. This is going to form your head and feet
  3. Tie a small overhand knot in one end of the cord to make one of your feet
  4. Thread the knotted end through the keyring and back on itself until you have the desired length for your person
  5. Now tie a small overhand knot at the end of the cord to make the other foot
  6. You can adjust the size of the person at this stage so if you want a smaller keyring, make the knot higher up the cord and trim off the excess
  7. Now, with adult supervision, take your lighter and gently melt the ends of the cord (the feet) to seal them - use a spoon to push the melted cord into the knot
  8. Be careful, it can be very hot
  9. Next you are going to make the body
  10. Take your second piece of cord
  11. Starting at the feet and working towards the head, you are going to tie cobra knots, alternating each knot the side is done on
  12. Follow the video to do this
  13. Keep working down the body until it is the length you want
  14. You should then have 2 excess bits of cord either side - these will be your arms
  15. To finish the body, tie the overhand knots (like you did on the legs), snip the excess cord and melt the ends
  16. You now have your paracord person!
