Use the masking tape to tape around the edges to secure your paper down to stop it moving whilst you work
Layer masking tape down the page so the whole piece of paper is covered in masking tape
Place your bowl or use a compass to draw a circle in the middle of the page
Carefully cut the masking tape circle out, or ask an adult to help you do this with a stanley knife – you should now be left with a circle of paper ready for painting
Place a large blob of your pale blue paint in the middle of the circle and a smaller blob of the medium blue above it. Now using long brush strokes, paint 3/4 of the circle with the light blue and the top quarter with the medium blue – blending the two shades together where they meet – as you paint, slightly arc your lines
Then take your navy and black – again, put the navy in the middle and the black at the top and brush across the circle again as you have just done – blending the two colours together as you go
Put a small dot of light blue at the bottom of the page, and brush it in, again blending as you go
Take the white, put it on the brush. If your white is too thick you can water it down slightly. Tapping the brush on your finger, on the top half of the circle – this is creating the stars
Leave to dry
Take a wider brush and get your black ready. Gently tapping/stipling your brush across the bottom 1/5 of the page – this is creating the silhouette of the trees and ground – again going with the shape of the bottom of the circle
Next you will paint the trees in the black – three on one side – one on the other
Leave to dry
Paint a white triangle – this is forming your tent
Leave to dry
Paint over the white triangle with the yellow to create a door
