  • Bottle
  • Scissors or craft knife
  • Elastic band
  • Flannel, face cloth or an old sock
  • Washing up liquid
  • Water
  • Glycerine (found in the baking section at the supermarket)
  • Food colouring (optional)

  1. Find a clean, empty plastic bottle
  2. The diameter of the bottle will determine the width of your bubble snakes
  3. You may need to ask an adult to help you with this step - using a pair of scissors or a craft knife cut the bottom off of the plastic bottle
  4. Cover the open end of your bottle with a piece of fabric that is similar to a washcloth or cotton sock
  5. Secure with a rubber band to keep the fabric in place
  6. (No elastic band then don’t worry just wrap it in tape)
  7. Mix 3 tablespoons of washing up liquid with 250ml of water and add 1 tablespoon of glycerine
  8. (It's best left overnight to settle before using)
  9. Place your bubble mix into a shallow bowl or plate
  10. Dip the fabric in the bubble solution and give the bottle a blow
