  1. Gather your friends on Zoom or your family to complete this activity
  2. Imagine you are going on holiday tomorrow what would you pack? Where are you going and what do you need to pack in your case? You have 5 minutes to pack a bag
  3. Get everyone to write down what they would pack in their bag and get everyone to explain to each other why they have picked each and why
  4. Now your situation has changed
  5. Imagine that you need to escape from your home tomorrow
  6. You do not know whether and when you will return
  7. Pack a suitcase with the things that you would take
  8. Remember you can only have one suitcase and you are probably going to leave your country on foot or by road
  9. You might not always be sleeping in a house at night
  10. Take 5-10 minutes to decide what you will take
  11. Now get everyone to pack a suitcase with the things that they would take
  12. Remember you can only have one suitcase and you are probably going to leave your country on foot or by road

  15. Now take the suitcase template and fill it with your items
  16. You could draw them or cut out images from newspapers and magazines and add them to the suitcase using glue or bluetack
  17. Again, get everyone to show their picture and ask them to explain what they have packed and why
  18. Now discuss the following points:-
  19. What difference is there between your holiday case and your get-away bag? Why are the suitcases differently equipped? What would you not take in your get-away bag that you would really miss?
  20. What about birth certificates, school certificates and vaccination cards? Why are these important?
  21. Discuss together the impact on their lives if they had to flee their home tomorrow
  22. What impact would it have on their future lives? What would happen if they could not attend school for 2 years even if they wanted to?
