Making Your Own Firelighters

  • Toilet rolls
  • Dried leaves
  • Cotton wool balls
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Newspaper cut into strips
  • Egg box

  1. Toilet roll firelighters
    a) Push the dried leaves into the toilet roll Squeeze the edges of toilet roll closed Pop the toilet roll under kindling for the perfect firefighter
  2. Cotton wool firelighters
    a) Coat the cotton wall in the petroleum jelly
    b) Place the cotton wool under the small pieces of wood and kindling
    c) Light the cotton wool to get the fire going
  3. Newspaper knots
    a) Knot the individual strips of paper into a knot, place the knot into the prepared fire and light when ready
  4. Egg box firelighters
    a) In the empty egg box, place small cut up and screwed up pieces of newspaper Place the egg box under the small pieces of wood and kindling
