Making popcorn in a tin can

Tin Can Popcorn

30 Minutes | All | Indoors

  • A washed tin can
  • Vegetable oil
  • 2 x foil cake cases
  • 2 x wooden pegs
  • Popcorn kernels
  • Tea light
  • Spoon (optional)

  1. Light the tea light and pop it in the tin can (use the spoon to lower it in if you like)
  2. In the foil cake case add some oil along with the popcorn kernels
  3. Put the other cake case on top to cover the kernels, use the pegs to secure the cake cases together
  4. Hold the pegs and cases over the tin can turning until the popcorn starts to pop!
  5. Once the gaps in the kernels popping slows down remove the cases from the heat
  6. Tip the popped corn into a bowl and sprinkle with salt or sugar
